IFC is Targeting Major Issues in 2026: Our Legislative Update

Updated: 3 days ago

We’re now five weeks into the 2026 Legislative Session, and the momentum is building! We're encouraged by your supportive emails and the liberal media's constant complaints about our work — a sure sign of our success.

As one outlet laments about Representative Cornel Rasor's bathroom bill:

"These bills are the latest efforts by conservative lawmakers in Idaho to limit LGBTQ+ rights and target transgender individuals, following a 2023 law that allowed parents to sue schools over transgender bathroom policies."

Imagine thinking that requiring men to use men's restrooms and women to use women's restrooms is an attack on rights. This is just one example of returning safety and sanity to Idaho. Thank you to Representative Cornel Rasor for pushing this crucial legislation forward.

We are excited to let you know more of what we have on the agenda for this year. Before diving in, let’s take a moment to highlight some of the key achievements we accomplished in 2025 :

  • Mask mandates are prohibited in Idaho. (H32)

  • Gold and silver are legal tender. (H177)

  • Medical workers do not have to perform treatments or procedures that go against their sincerely held beliefs. (H59)

  • Ivermectin is available over-the-counter. (S1211)

  • Idaho is free from World Health Organization mandates. (S1038)

  • Greater punishment for indecent exposure at public events. (H270)

  • Soda and candy are not covered by SNAP benefits. (H109)

  • Parental Rights in Education passed. (H0352)

In 2026, the Idaho Freedom Caucus members are taking on major issues like:

  • Transparency in funding and data related to illegal immigration in Idaho

  • Weather modification

  • Foreign money funding initiatives in Idaho

  • Property taxes

  • Firearm safety training in schools (requiring)

  • Digital ID's

  • Programmable money

  • Government spending transparency and budget cuts

Every bill we introduce is designed to enhance the sovereignty, safety, sanity, and health of our state. Likewise, we will fight against any poor legislation that stands in contrast to the liberty and prosperity of Idahoans.

Congratulations Representative Hawkins and Representative Harris!

Congratulations to Representative Dale Hawkins for his appointment to Chairman of the House Education committee. In this role, Representative Hawkins will set the agenda, lead policy reform, manage legislation, and direct budget priorities. Although the Idaho Education Association accuses Dale of having a "long track record of being anti-public education"—a statement they frame as criticism—he remains a dedicated champion of school choice, parental rights, and fostering a competitive educational system that prioritizes learning over indoctrination.

Representative Hawkins is honored to serve the residents of District 2, which includes the counties of Benewah, Clearwater, and Shoshone, as well as parts of Bonner and Kootenai Counties.

Representative Kyle Harris is also making waves in Idaho this year. Rep. Harris has been appointed as the Idaho GOP's new legislative liaison to the Idaho House of Representatives.

In this role, Rep. Harris will serve as the primary point of contact between House Republican legislators and the Idaho GOP, helping ensure clear communication and coordination on legislative priorities during the session. Congratulations, Kyle!

We want to hear from you! If you’re facing challenges or see issues that need attention, please reach out. We read every email we receive. Together, we can work toward a stronger and freer Idaho.
