Our state is facing a critical crisis caused by illegal immigration that is impacting our schools, our safety, our culture, and our hard-earned money.

While the Left continues the rhetoric of claiming open borders is the "American way" and hurling the "racism" card at any supporters of true law and order, we all know and feel deeply the impact of illegal immigration across our state.

• The High Cost of Inaction: Taxpayers are footing the bill for housing, education, food, medical, and legal costs associated with illegal individuals. On top of that, organizations hiring immigrants are receiving federal subsidies, so hard-working Americans are paying out again.

  
  

• Public Safety Concerns: Without accurate data, we don't know who is in our communities or our jails. While we may know the kinds of crimes committed, Idaho doesn't have any statutory obligations to track citizenship.

  
  

• Cultural Impact: As Representative Dale Hawkins stated, "It's damaging our country. It's damaging our way of life. It's damaging our culture. It's damaging our home."

  
  

• Federal Failure: The federal government is failing to enforce borders, leaving states like Idaho to deal with the consequences. You have consistently voiced your concerns to the Legislature. We hear you, and Idaho Freedom Caucus members are taking action.

The Solution.

We unveiled a package of bills designed to bring transparency, accountability, and enforcement to Idaho.

• Authority for Counties: Empowering local law enforcement to work directly with federal immigration authorities (State Police already have a separate bill).

  
  

• Immigration Status Reporting: Mandating a report on the immigration status of all arrested individuals.

  
  

• Prison & Jail Audit: We need a full audit of how many undocumented individuals are currently in our state prisons and county jails— and how much they are costing you.

  
  

• School System Audit: We are calling for an aggregate count (no names or addresses) of students enrolled without identification to understand the impact on our education system and budget.

  
  

• Refugee Resettlement Audit: Requiring transparency from NGOs and resettlement programs about who they are bringing in and where the funding is going.

  
  

• Unlawful Employment & Human Smuggling: Strengthening laws against employing unauthorized workers and cracking down on NGOs facilitating human smuggling under the guise of aid.
