We unveiled a package of bills designed to bring transparency, accountability, and enforcement to Idaho.

On Monday, House Bill 493, which amended existing law to revise the penalty for soliciting commercial sexual activity, finally came to the floor. My concerns with that bill stemmed from several things. Selective enforcement, unequal application of the law, and several people brought up the fact that this was going to exacerbate the overcrowding of our prisons.

To further our mission, we’re excited to announce a new addition to our PAC team. We now have an Operations Manager to work alongside Chairman Ed Humphreys as we grow the PAC’s impact and influence across the Gem State.

Had our Idaho Treasurer been permitted to split the investment between gold and silver, Idaho could have more than doubled its investment, generating well over half a billion dollars in gains.

In times of frustration with Washington, there is often a temptation to look for sweeping or dramatic solutions. But conservative governance has always valued prudence over impulse. The Constitution already provides tools for states to assert their authority without reopening foundational questions or introducing uncertainty into the system.

Limiting government growth is possible when we have honest conversations, transparency, and a willingness to tackle tough issues head-on. This is why I always try to promote open dialogue and public education on the critical issues facing Idaho.
